Baroque music
Baroque music is enjoying a major revival and growing interest across Europe and around the world. Too often regarded as elitist, baroque music and opera are nevertheless at the heart of music’s universal appeal. Works by Claudio Monteverdi, George Frideric Handel, Johann Pachelbel and Johann Sebastian Bach have become often-unrecognised anthems of our daily lives. For years, filmmakers and advertisers have drawn on the genius of these baroque composers of the 17th and 18th centuries. |
